Attendance policy as approved by the Daybreak Board:

  1. The intent of this attendance policy is NOT to punish those that do not meet the minimum requirements but to provide accountability for what each of us has committed to and encourage Daybreak members to deliver on our claims of being the best club in District 5970. We have an incredible club and I strongly desire for it to remain that way.
  2. 60% minimum attendance is required as stipulated by Rotary International and spelled out in our orientation.
  3. Attendance will be reviewed at the end of September and the end of March each year. The attendance figure used will be for the previous six month period.
  4. A letter will be sent out to everyone under 60% to encourage increased attendance and to use make-ups to get over 60% by the end of December or the end of July. This letter will include the contact information of the President and Membership Chair for questions or comments. Note: make-ups need to be addressed within two weeks before or two weeks after the missed Daybreak meeting.
  5. Attendance figures will be reviewed again at the end of December and the end of July for the previous six month period.
  6. The Daybreak members that still have not met the 60% minimum attendance will be sent a second letter in lieu of an invoice for membership dues. This letter will thank them for their service and encourage them to rejoin Daybreak when the Friday morning time slot works better for their schedule.
  7. Committee Chairs need to take attendance at all Daybreak committee functions/events and communicate that information to the club secretary (Kirt Norris).

Club paid meals policy:

We have had some confusion over who needs to pay for their own meal at our normal Friday morning meetings.  I am going to try to succinctly clear this up.  Speakers.  How was that?  The meal of the speaker(s) for the program of the day is covered.   Everyone else that takes a plate needs to pay.  This includes, but not limited to (for you legal beagles), visitors, guests, distinguished guests, family members, friends, and family and friends of the speaker.

The two possible exceptions are as follows:  First, any committee can pay for a guest from their annual budget.  The committee chair needs to inform Cindy Bathgate in advance.  Finally, any member can request payment for a guest's meal from the Executive Committee.  The Daybreak member needs to contact the President no later than the Wednesday prior to the meeting.  The Executive Board will consider the request and get back to the member prior to the Friday morning meeting.
